All of William Grit Laskin’s works are one-of-a-kind so they will always be a timeless work of functional art. He is one of those talented builders who has done what most luthiers can only dream of. He is the inventor of not 1 but 2 commonly used appointments on guitars – the Sound Port and Laskin Arm Bevel. And not only does he know how to build incredible sounding guitars he is able to execute extremely intricate inlays on his own guitars as well.

This guitar looks stunning from afar as you view the incredible landscape he has created across the canvas that is the guitar. But the true beauty lies in the details when you scrutinise the inlays up close - the degree of realism he achieves is sublime almost unparalleled by any inlay artist. He spends about 10 hours on average JUST to engrave the details of a human face of which there are 4 on this Shakespeare themed guitar. So you can imagine the number of hours painstakingly spent on creating this work of art. It is called “Haply I think on Thee” which examines the life and writings of William Shakespeare.

It also helps that this gorgeous instrument comes in the holy grail of tonewoods – Brazilian Rosewood. A perfect addition to anybody’s collection.
